Program Overview
FTC programs
are in line with best practices in positive youth development. This includes: approaching youth
as a resource to be developed, rather than a problem to be solved; focusing on holistically nurturing skills and competencies,
not solely preventing specific problems; and engaging the whole community. All the programs
will operate Monday to Friday from 7:00-AM- 8:00 Pm and will offer opportunities for youth to develop their physical, social,
emotional, and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, leadership, enjoyment, friendship, and recognition. All the programs foster a commitment to young
people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope
in the future. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give
youth the commitment to follow through on path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Community will have
pride and empower to take actions which will lead to revive neighborhood and productive adults. FTC promotes ongoing adult stakeholder participation who is committed to helping youth and adults work together for the betterment of youth and local
communities as a whole.
